Summer News

The crops are growing on the farm after one of the latest spring sowing periods for many years.  The long hard winter finally let up at the end of March, and tractors and their drivers were very busy in April and early May trying to catch up.

If the oak flowers before the ash, then get ready for a splash;  if the ash flowers before the oak, then get ready for a soak.   So goes one guide to the coming summer.  For what it’s worth, the oaks were miles ahead this year, so perhaps we are in for a lovely summer.  We have had a wonderful May in Scotland – no rain here at all and plenty of sunshine.

There is always lots going on for visitors in the summer, whether attending events, exploring castles or simply letting the days go by in the wonderful countryside.
